Being aware of the role of electricity as an essential product for the development of both the national economy of Latvia and the contemporary society, the Company’s main goal is to be an efficient and dynamic provider of electricity distribution services, maintaining the reliability of electricity supply, improving customer care and service availability, and caring for the environment. We support compliance with the recognised standards of quality and rational use of resources.

The medium-term operational strategy of Sadales tīkls for 2017–2022 is based on the provision of the electricity supply services, which meet the customer needs and are economically justified with the aim to increase the reliability of electricity supply, as the distribution electricity network managed by the Company is an infrastructure facility of strategic importance, whose operational quality and available capacity is a key factor for ensuring economic growth and access to modern services for the public in Latvia.

Our operations are targeted at improving the quality of the services provided, as electricity supply is one of the most important cornerstones of economic development. Advancement of science, technology and innovation leads to increased demand from households and businesses for improved quality of the services received, including electricity supply, because the development of technology, production processes and services cannot be ensured without high-quality and uninterrupted power supply. Therefore, Sadales tīkls carries out a comprehensive set of technical measures on a daily basis to maintain the Latvian electricity network in a reliable condition and restore it in a timely manner so that customers can consume electricity as one of the safest and most reliable resources.

Monitoring and analysing the progress of the European distribution system operators and their experience, we continue to develop the electricity network in Latvia that is based on digital technology, which will contribute to the country’s competitiveness on the global scale. The national energy policy objectives enshrined in the Energy Development Guidelines for the period until 2020 include improving the reliability of electricity supply, increasing the share of renewable energy and enhancing the energy efficiency, and the operational objectives of Sadales tīkls are also consistent with the national guidelines.

The following will be ensured when implementing the Company’s medium-term strategy:

a smart and efficiently managed distribution electricity network which meets the customer needs and is based on digital technology;
sustainable and economically viable electricity distribution services which are essential to economic competitiveness and growth;
a simplified electricity network connection process;
an environment which is supportive for the operation of the electricity market and appropriate to the needs of the market participants;
an electricity network which is safe for the public, the service staff and the environment.

The operational strategy of Sadales tīkls for 2017–2022 was approved at the Shareholders’ Meeting on 22 February 2017. The strategy incorporates the guidelines for the long-term development of the distribution electricity network laid down in the medium-term operational strategy of Latvenergo AS Group and in the ten-year development plan of Sadales tīkls for 2014–2023.
