Integrated management system

Upon the commencement of its legally independent operations, Sadales tīkls AS set as its main goal to be an efficient and dynamic provider of electricity distribution services and to take care of the security of electricity supply, improvement of customer service, availability of services and the environment. By supporting the compliance with recognised quality standards and rational use of resources, in February 2008 the Company started the process of implementation of the Integrated Management System. Integrated certification is a way of simultaneously certifying a management system in compliance with two or more standards.


The Integrated Management System of Sadales tīkls AS incorporates 3 management systems:

  • Quality Management System in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard requirements;
  • Environmental Management System in accordance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard requirements;
  • Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard requirements.

Certification scope: Distribution and supply of electricity. Production of wooden poles for power transmission lines.

In February 2010, Sadales tīkls AS was awarded the Environmental Management System Certificate in accordance with ISO 14001:2004. In April 2011, Sadales tīkls AS received the Quality Management System Certificate ISO 9001:2008 and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certificate OHSAS 18001:2007. The certificates were issued by the audit company Det Norske Veritas Latvia SIA. In October 2016, the supplementation of the Environmental Management System of Sadales tīkls AS with the energy consumption evaluation process was assessed and the opinion of DNV GL SIA on compliance with the legislative requirements for energy efficiency was received. A substantial amount of work has been invested in the development of the Integrated Management System: the processes have been streamlined, common procedures have been developed and all system documents have been brought into conformity. With the introduction of the Integrated Management System, Sadales tīkls AS profiles itself as a company whose management thinks about sustainable development not only within the company but at the national level. Until now, the Company has also provided customers with secure and high-quality services and cared for the occupational safety and professional growth of its employees, and the certificates received are an essential proof of the business practices implemented and fulfilled in a quality manner over a number of years.

Certificate ISO 9001:2015 demonstrates the high-level functioning of the management and control system. It provides the customer with the assurance that the company takes care of the quality of its services, maintaining a quality management system, periodically undergoing independent audits and certifying the efficiency of the system with the certificate. This certificate also confirms that the company employs competent and professional personnel, operating in accordance with the specific quality management procedures developed.

Certificate ISO 14001:2015  confirms that the Environmental Management System developed and implemented by the company is evaluated according to the best practice standard and meets the requirements of this standard, as well as that the company continuously ensures compliance of its operations with environmental regulatory requirements and moves towards continuous improvement of its performance in environmental protection and rational use of natural resources.

Certificate OHSAS 18001:2007 confirms the company’s commitment to caring for the employees’ occupational health and safety (OHS). The OHS Management System allows for persistently curbing the company’s occupational health and safety risks and implementing appropriate policies and objectives in compliance with regulatory requirements. OHSAS 18001 is a widely known standard for OHS management systems that can be used by a company in any industry.
