Compensation for material damage

When applying for compensation for material damage, please make sure that your situation meets the following conditions:

  • damage to the property was caused by an incident in the electrical network serviced by Sadales tīkls;
  • the user was not able to prevent the damage, although protective measures were taken.

Important! Compensation for material damage is not applied, if Sadales tīkls cannot prevent and / or influence the fault occurrence (for example, thunderstorms, power cuts).


How to apply for compensation for material damage?

Actions of Sadales tīkls following receipt of the application:

  • we will verify whether the damage to your property was caused by an incident in the electrical network serviced by Sadales tīkls;
  • we will contact you within 30 days from receiving the application and inform about the decision.


What documents should be submitted by you?

  • a document evidencing the damage, for example, a paid invoice, a cash register receipt, a bank or online bank payment order that proves the costs of repair (if the electrical appliances could be repaired after the incident) or purchase* (if the electrical appliances could not be repaired or the repair was not reasonable after the incident);
  • certified electrician report on the cause of the electrical appliances damage (it must indicate if electrical appliances are repairable or repair is not possible);
  • in case of reasonable compensation we will conclude an agreement with you.

* In case of purchase, Sadales tīkls will compensate the electrical appliances value at the moment of the event.
