Compensation of material damage

Conditions for compensation of caused material damage:

  • A damage to the property was caused by an incident in the power network serviced by Sadales tīkls JSC.
  • The customer was not able to prevent the damage, although protective measures were applied.
  • Compensation is provided for an actual damage that has happened to the property (for example, damaged computer hardware or household appliances) based on the current market value of an equal appliance and the actual depreciation.


Applying for compensation of material damage:

  • By logging in to the customer portal (under the section: Submit an application -> Other services).


Actions of Sadales tīkls JSC following receipt of the application:

  • Our employee will contact you if necessary in order to clarify details about the incident.
  • We will verify whether the damage to your property was caused by an incident in the power network serviced by Sadales tīkls JSC.
  • After analyse of all the conditions we will contact you to inform the decision made on compensation of damage or rejection of compensation.


Compensation of damage:

  • In order to receive compensation, you will have to submit documents evidencing the damage, for example, paid invoice, a cash register receipt, a bank or the Internet bank payment that assures the costs of repair (if the property could be repaired after the incident) or purchase document (if the property could not be repaired or the repair was not reasonable after the incident).
  • In addition, you will have to submit a conclusion on the cause of the damage to the property, for example, a veterinarian’s conclusion, a police statement, a conclusion by a certified electrician, photos from the scene of the incident.
  • After required documents will be submitted, we will sign an agreement on compensation of damage with you.
