Changing the electricity trader

Each customer has the right to change the trader and the frequency of changing the trader is unlimited. However, it is important to comply with the provisions of the electricity trade agreement regarding the early termination of the agreement. The range of services offered by traders is extensive and includes services for which a fee is charged in the event of the early termination of the agreement.

If you choose another trader, the agreement with the new electricity trader must be concluded by the 15th day of the month. It means that you have new electricity trader starting from 1st day of the next month.

What is the procedure for changing the trader?

Final guaranteed supply

The final guaranteed supply is the supply of electricity to a user who has not selected an electricity trader and has not concluded an agreement. In this case, electricity is supplied by the trader selected by Sadales tīkls under a tendering procedure. At present, the trader within the final guaranteed supply is Latvenergo AS, e-mail: klientu.serviss@latvenergo.lv, ph. +371 80200400.

The electricity price is formed based on the average electricity price on the electricity exchange to which trader expenses are added. It may be different every month.

Within the final guaranteed supply, the customers pay the trader for:

  • the electricity consumed;
  • Sadales tīkls system services;
  • mandatory procurement components;
  • value added tax.
